What type of man are you? Is it hard to make choices that steer you in the right way of living? Why don't we teach our children who are our future? Are we as black men handicapped to understanding what is important for our children? Why is doing the right things in life looked down on in the black family?
As a black man I've realized our black children suffer from the WANT to learn due to the lack of support at home. Proverbs 17:6 says, Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of their children are their fathers. In other words, Grandchildren are the pride of their grandparents and the success of children is the glory of their fathers. So in this day and time we have to understand it is important for grandparents to see their children educated and to see their grandchildren follow the footsteps of their parents success. In the old days, grandparents had to little education and had to work in order to provide a living for their families. The fact that they fought so hard to provide paved the way to teach their children the importance of being educated so they wouldn't have to work so hard to provide for their families. What has happened to the black family in this 20th century? Is the system(govt.) paralyzing our people with food stamps and housing to keep us from wanting more out of life? Are we as a black people lost the zest for life and the betterment for ourselves? What will it take for our people to make it out of this modernized slavery mentality? When will we realize that we are in control of our own destiny? Our children are our future and it is up to us as parents and educators to to want and do more for our youth... Agree or Disagree?
